Terms of use

These terms cover the MapCar application and the site mapcar.z-cloud.com.vn, provided by Z-SOFT CO., LTD. Installing or using the app means you accept them. They are also MapCar's end-user licence agreement (EULA); the build downloaded from the App Store is additionally covered by section 9.

1. The app assists a driver; it does not replace one

MapCar displays your speed, speed limits, navigation, and overspeed, following-distance, traffic-light and rest warnings. That is reference information. Road signs and traffic law are always the authority. You remain fully responsible for controlling the vehicle, including when the app is wrong, late, or showing nothing at all.

2. Geographic scope

MapCar's map data, routing, place index, speed limits, traffic lights, road signs and community map cover the territory of Vietnam only. The app is distributed in every country so that people about to travel to Vietnam can install it in advance; outside Vietnam the app has no data behind those features and we make no commitment that any of them function there. Inferred speed limits follow Vietnamese traffic law and do not apply in any other country.

3. Speed limits may be inferred

Speed limits come from MapCar's sign data and the community map; where there is no data yet or the data has no value, the limit is inferred by the app from road type, area and vehicle type under Circular 38/2024/TT-BGTVT. The figure shown can be lower or higher than what is actually permitted. Inferred values always carry the words ~ estimated. We make no accuracy guarantee and accept no liability for fines or losses arising from relying on that figure.

4. Data and the community map

MapCar does not require an account. When the community map is enabled, contributions and traffic information help update maps, alerts and route suggestions. You can disable it in Settings. See the Privacy policy for how data is used and the choices available to you.

5. Your contributions to the community map

By sending a report (a sign, a hazard, a place) you allow Z-SOFT to store it, merge it with other reports, publish it to other users and use it to improve the service, without time limit and without compensation. You undertake to report only what you actually see where you are standing. Deliberately false or bulk reports may get your device id limited or refused without notice.

Community data is information supplied by other users, not independently verified. Signs appear only once enough separate devices agree; temporary hazards appear at once and expire after 30–60 minutes. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any item and accept no liability for driving decisions based on them — road signs and traffic law are always the final authority.

6. Place search and directions

MapCar offers place search and suggested routes. Results may not reflect new roads, temporary closures or vehicle weight and height restrictions. Check actual road conditions and choose a route suitable for your vehicle. Usage limits and interruptions may apply.

7. Camera warnings, traffic lights and external devices

The following-distance warning is measured by the camera and a recognition model running on the device; its accuracy depends on camera placement, light, weather and the lens height you measured yourself. The traffic-light reminder relies only on light positions in map data; the app cannot see the light's colour. Readings from an OBD-II dongle or tyre-pressure sensors are returned by your own hardware; we accept no responsibility for that hardware or for decisions based on its readings. All of it is assistance — you must still watch the road and keep your distance.

8. Paid plans

Overspeed warnings, signs and traffic cameras while online, rest reminders and navigation are free and are not part of any plan. Three things are sold inside the app:

• MapCar Pro — 1-year subscription: ₫149,000 a year in Vietnam. Each 12-month period unlocks, on the device that bought or activated it: live figures from the car's OBD-II dongle, the camera-based following-distance warning, the alternative looks for the driving screen, your own greeting lines for driver and passengers, and nationwide signs and speed limits without an internet connection. MapCar Launcher adds local / USB music playback and holiday greetings. The full list for each edition is shown on the purchase screen.
• MapCar Lifetime: ₫499,000 once in Vietnam, and it does not renew — the same unlocks as the Pro plan, with no time limit.
• Mika AI — 1-month subscription: ₫49,000 a month in Vietnam. Each one-month period grants 1,000 credits for the Mika responses; basic control commands cost no credits. Unused credits do not carry over to the next period. One Mika plan can be used on up to 2 devices.

MapCar Launcher installed from the APK. This edition does not go through a store, so it is sold by bank transfer (QR code): the 1-year Pro and Lifetime plans as above but without auto-renewal, and Mika credit packs (1 or 12 months of credits) that do not expire. The price shown on the purchase screen right before you transfer is the amount due. For a refund, contact support@z-cloud.com.vn; a refunded plan or its credits are withdrawn.

Automatic renewal. The yearly and monthly plans renew automatically at the same price at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that period ends. Your store account is charged when you confirm the purchase and at each renewal. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions on Android; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If you cancel mid-period you keep access until the paid period ends, and the remainder of that period is not refunded.

Price. The figures above are the Vietnamese prices. The store displays and charges in the currency and at the price tier of the country attached to your store account; the price shown in the app immediately before you buy is always the amount that will be charged. We may change the price for future periods, and the store will notify you under its own rules before a new price takes effect.

Purchases, trial and refunds. Purchases on iPhone are governed by Apple's terms and refund policy; purchases on Android by Google's. When you change devices, use “Restore purchases” in the app. The 30-day trial (with a 30-day Mika trial) is granted once per device — reinstalling the app does not restart it — costs nothing, and does not turn into a paid plan when it ends.

Activation codes. After a real transaction, Z-SOFT issues a code that unlocks the MapCar build for a car head unit belonging to the same customer, so nobody pays twice. A code binds to one device at a time, can be moved by unbinding it from the old device, and is revoked if it is shared or resold. Nothing on iPhone is unlocked by entering a code.

9. Terms for the build downloaded from the App Store

This section applies to the copy of MapCar you download onto an Apple-branded device and is the end-user licence agreement (EULA) for that copy. Where it conflicts with another part of this page, this section prevails. Nothing here sets usage rules inconsistent with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

1. This agreement is between you and Z-SOFT. Apple is not a party to it. Z-SOFT, not Apple, is solely responsible for MapCar and its content.
2. Scope of licence. You are granted a non-transferable licence to use MapCar on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
3. Maintenance and support. Z-SOFT is solely responsible for any maintenance and support services for MapCar. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services for this app.
4. Warranty. Z-SOFT is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are Z-SOFT's sole responsibility.
5. Product claims. Z-SOFT, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to MapCar or your possession and use of it, including: product liability claims; any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation. This agreement does not limit Z-SOFT's liability beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
6. Intellectual property rights. If a third party claims that MapCar or your possession and use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights, Z-SOFT, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
7. Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
8. Developer name and address. 9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using MapCar, including the ODbL licence covering the OpenStreetMap data described in section 10.
10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement. Upon your acceptance, Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce this agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary of it.

10. Maps and third-party data

Map data includes contributions from the OpenStreetMap community under the ODbL licence. Part of the road-sign data was produced by MapCar with the help of Mapillary street-level imagery (CC BY-SA 4.0). Other content is used under the applicable rights and licences. Data may be incomplete or out of date, and some online content may be temporarily unavailable.

11. Rights in the MapCar sign data

The database of road signs, speed limits, traffic cameras and traffic lights in MapCar is collected, processed, verified and compiled by Z-SOFT, including the parts merged from user reports (section 5). This database, its arrangement and its packaged forms (offline data packs, data tiles downloaded over the network) are the property and intellectual property of Z-SOFT. They are not covered by the OpenStreetMap ODbL licence mentioned in section 10.

You may use this data only to view it and receive warnings inside the MapCar app on your own device. Without Z-SOFT's prior written consent, no one may:

• copy, extract, decrypt or convert all or any part of the data, including from offline packs, caches or the app's network traffic;
• call MapCar servers outside the app, scrape them with automated tools, or systematically capture or record the screen to rebuild the data;
• reuse the data in another product, map, app or service, free or paid, or use it to train models;
• sell, rent, share, publish or redistribute the data in any form.

Data served to each device carries its own identifying marks so that leaks can be traced. If a breach is found, Z-SOFT may stop providing data, block the device, revoke any paid plan without refund, require copied data to be removed, and claim damages or take legal action under Vietnamese law. To use the data for any other purpose (research, partnership, commercial licensing), contact support@z-cloud.com.vn.

12. Installation and distribution

MapCar consists of: the head-unit app (Google Play and an APK on this site), the Android phone app with Android Auto (Google Play), MapCar Launcher for head units (Google Play and APK), and the iPhone app with CarPlay (App Store). You may install it on your own devices and use it personally or within your business. You may not modify, decompile, repackage or redistribute the APK under another name. Download only from mapcar.z-cloud.com.vn, Google Play or the App Store — we take no responsibility for an APK obtained elsewhere. The APK build checks for and offers updates; installing them is your choice. Store builds update through their store.

13. No warranty

The app is provided "as is". We do not promise that it runs on every head unit or that it runs without fault, and to the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for indirect losses arising from its use.

14. Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. A new version is posted on this page with its date. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the new version.
